Volleyball at Oxford is traditional six-a-side indoor volleyball. Volleyball is inclusive to all genders and levels of experience, either at university or college level, as well as both students and non-students. We welcome enquiries from those with a disability regarding the accessibility of Volleyball.
The club is growing rapidly, now bringing together about 100 members who represent Oxford at both competitive and recreational levels.
The club is structured around 3 men's and 3 women's teams. The Blues teams compete against other universities in the Western Conference of the BUCS League, and the 2nd teams in the Berkshire Volleyball Association (BVA). Both teams also play a Varsity Match against Cambridge every year. We achieve excellent results in all these competitions. The 3rd teams are developmental, include coaching, and welcome new and/or recreational players.
Besides training and matches, we build strong club spirit by organising diverse and fun social events, formal dinners, volleyball tournaments and alumni matches.
The club runs a yearly cuppers competition, usually in Trinity term. To get involved contact your college sports rep or a member of the club.
A maximum of 12 Half Blues awarded to men who play in the Varsity Match, compete in 50% of BUCS league matches, attend at least 70% of training sessions.
