Oxford University Blues Committee

Executive Committee

President

Chris Parker

Corpus Christi · Cross Country

As President of the Oxford University Blues Committee, I am honoured to lead our mission in recognising and celebrating elite student-athletes. In this role I am focused on upholding our historic sporting traditions, while ensuring the Committee remains fair, inclusive and reflective of excellence across all disciplines. My own sporting experience is in athletics, where I previously served as Men's Captain, and in cross country, where I am the current Men's Captain. As a Cross Country Varsity Champion and a BUCS Gold Medallist, I know first-hand the dedication it takes to reach the pinnacle of university sport, and how much it means to be awarded an Oxford Blue. Outside the sporting world, I am a fourth-year Materials Scientist at Corpus Christi College. If you have any questions about the Blues process, please get in touch through the contact form.

Secretary

Sam Leadley

Lady Margaret Hall · Orienteering

As the Secretary for this year's Oxford University Blues Committee my role involves managing committee admin, including organising meetings and taking meeting minutes. I have previously sat on the Blues Committee in the academic years commencing 2022, 2023 and 2025. My background is in the sport of orienteering, where previously served as president during the 2023-24 academic year. As part of this I have achieved notable results at both university and open competitions, with top results including 11th in the BUCS individual race and 4th in the BUCS relays in 2026, as well as 9th in the 2026 British Night Championships and 7th in the Mixed Sprint Relay at the 2025 European University Championships. In my time at Oxford University I have achieved four Half Blues and on Full Blue in Orienteering. Outside of sport, I am a 4th year Physics DPhil student at Lady Margaret Hall.

Treasurer

James Moore

St Cross · Dancesport

As Treasurer for this year's Blues Committee I am responsible for looking after the finances - which crucially includes ensuring there is a bar tab at every meeting. I have sat on the current Blues Committee since 2024, as well as two years on the Men's and Woman's Blues Committees. My own sport is Dancesport, where I have previously served as Team Captain a record four times - each time leading the Oxford team to victory at nationals. I understand the dedication and training required to compete at the highest level, typically training 20 hours a week, competing 2-3 times a term, and more finals placings than I can remember. Outside of sport I am studying a Masters in Software and Systems Security (cybersecurity) at St Cross College, and I developed both the Members App and this website.
