About the club

Squash is inclusive to all genders and levels of experience, either at university or college level. We welcome enquiries from those with a disability regarding the accessibility of Squash.

With over 150 members, ranging from complete beginners at the Saturday training sessions to internationally competitive players at the very top of the Blues squads, there is a place in OUSRC for all levels of experience and commitment.

OUSRC has four student teams (two men's and two women's) that compete over the course of Michaelmas and Hilary term against other universities in the national BUCS leagues, as well as in a varied private fixture list. The competitive highlight of the squash calendar is definitely the Varsity Match against the University of Cambridge, which sees some fantastic squash being played during the day, and a great celebration to mark the occasion in the evening.

The 2s squads (nicknamed the 'Squirrels' on the men's side and 'Ferrets' on the women's) usually have 10-15 players who come to regular training a couple of times a week and play weekly BUCS matches. The Blues (1s) benefit from smaller squads, and also get the chance to play a number of private clubs, such as The Queen's Club and the Armed Forces.

Almost all squad members play in the Varsity Matches in Hilary term, giving about 40 Oxford squash players the opportunity to compete in what is usually a really close and exciting match!

Outside of the squads, social members get access to weekly club nights, beginner training sessions, and ladders. The social membership is an ideal way to pick up squash as a beginner, or to keep up your game without committing to the training schedule. In addition, some social members are part of a team of staff, students and community members which play in the local Oxfordshire league.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us by email or DM us on Instagram if you have any questions about getting involved in the club!

Inter-college & Cuppers

Squash runs college team leagues and inter-college tournaments, for players to get involved at college level. For more information on how to participate, please contact a club committee member or your college sports rep.
