About the club

Pole is an exciting discipline combining the strength and stamina from calisthenics and gymnastics, with the grace and flexibility of dance. The history of pole is rooted in the artistry of stripping. Pole sport, art and dance encompasses a variety of styles - from dynamic tricks and flips, to sultry movements; balletic and contemporary styles to dramatic theatrical performances. Pole is accessible to anyone, regardless of gender, sexuality and fitness level.
Since 2018, we have offered weekly classes and training opportunities for students and community members of Oxford city centre. Non-Oxford University students are absolutely welcome, but must be over 18 to participate. Whether you're brand new to pole or an experienced pole competitor, OU Pole Sports provides an inclusive and supportive environment and community for your pole training and development. We enter annual university-level competitions and perform at Oxford University college balls and bops.
